AMSilk GmbH, a world leader in supplying innovative high-performance bio-based silk materials, announced in January that Benoît Cugnet has joined the company’s leadership team as Head of Fiber Business Unit, as of January 1st, 2022.
Benoît Cugnet brings to AMSilk 25 years of global, senior commercial experience in strategic and operational marketing, plus sales functions with leadership roles at Freudenberg Group.
The international marketing and sales expert will drive the future strategic development of the Fiber business unit. In terms of operative growth projects, he and his team will focus on the start of the industrial spinning production at Monosuisse, the advancement of the spinning process, development of Silk+ and the establishment of a strong yarn sales funnel with world-class customers.

Benoît Cugnet started his professional career as Technical Services Manager at Freudenberg NW, Cape Town and later took on the role of Sales Manager Textiles in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Islands of the Indian Ocean.
After moving to Europe in 1999, Benoît worked first as Product Manager and then as Sales Director France in Paris, leading sales in fashion, workwear and protective clothing, serving customers such as Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Chloé and Celine.
In 2007, he was appointed to the headquarters of the Freudenberg Group as Head of Supply Chain Management Apparel Europe. He worked successfully in the reorganization and management of the supply chain of the apparel business in Europe. In 2009, he became Director Sales & Marketing Europe and was responsible for € 145 million in sales and 200 employees.
In 2015, Benoît was promoted to Head of Global Strategic Marketing, at Freudenberg Performance Materials, Global Business Division Apparel. He was leading the marketing and strategic planning processes for the division with 4 regional headquarters, 8 production sites, 60 sales offices and 1300 employees. Benoît served as member of the Division’s Global Executive Team.
Benoît holds a Bachelor in Technology of Clothing Production and a Master of Business Administration.
