The event has established itself as an important network meeting and once again this year focuses on research trends and current economic policy.
Almost 100 guests attended this year’s economic reception on September 26th, 2018 at the Faculty Club G2B (Gateway to Biotech) of the Innovation- and Start-up-Centre for Biotechnology (IZB). They followed the invitation of Minister of State Kerstin Schreyer Schreyer and Dr. Zobel, CEO of the IZB, who hosted this network meeting for the sixth time. Invited were companies from the voting circle of the Minister of State for Family, Labour and Social Affairs, IZB companies and top-class representatives of the Martinsried Campus. This year’s speaker was President of the Bavarian Parliament Ilse Aigner. The Managing Director of the IZB, Dr. Peter Hanns Zobel, welcomed the guests and presented the latest developments at the IZB. Exosome Diagnostic GmbH and Amsilk GmbH, both based at the IZB, were particularly successful this year. Kerstin Schreyer then emphasized the special importance of the event and praised the ideas and projects between large corporations, medium-sized companies and start-ups. She then handed the word over to the President of the Bavarian Parliament Ilse Aigner. In her lecture, the former Bavarian State Minister for Housing, Construction and Transport spoke about the economic policy of the Bavarian State Government. She placed particular emphasis on combating the shortage of skilled workers and strengthening small and medium-sized businesses and crafts. In addition, Ms. Aigner presented ideas of the Bavarian State Government to eliminate the housing shortage and traffic problems in metropolitan areas. After Ilse Aigner answered questions, a pleasant evening with interesting conversations and a picturesque sunset developed. “This year’s economic reception was once again a great success”, Schreyer and Zobel were pleased about the successful event.
