According to the amended Genetic Engineering Safety Ordinance (GenTSV), project managers and Biosafety Officers (BBS) must in future renew their expertise every five years by attending an update course. Since the enforcement practice of this 5-year period differs in the individual federal states, we recommend that you clarify with your responsible state authority when you must perform the update for the first time. For the Max Planck Institutes at the Martinsried Campus, according to the state authority, a renewed participation in an officially recognized training event is required by 28.02.2026 at the latest. Due to this change of the GenTSV, 2 MPG internal training events according to § 28 GenTSV will be organized at the MPI of Biochemistry.

Refresher course for updating professional expertise for project leaders and biosafety officers (BBS) on Friday, 23 June 2023.

The one-day refresher course will be held as an online event with simultaneous translation into English. More information and the link to register can be found here on the homepage of Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry.

Please notice: The number of participants is limited. Registration is currently only open to Max Planck employees. From 27 April 2023, registration will also be open to external participants (non-MPG employees).

Basic course for obtaining expertise for project leaders and biosafety officers (BBS) on Thursday and Friday, 30 November and 01 December 2023.
The two-day basic course will be held as an online event with simultaneous translation into English. Further information and the link to register will also be available here on the homepage of Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry from the beginning of August 2023.
