The two-year full-time training period teaches practical and theoretical skills that are required for working in modern biology, e.g. performing molecular biology experiments, handling tissue culture, working with microorganisms, etc. The training ends with the state-certified Biological Technical Assistant examination. After one year of vocational training, it is possible to pursue further training as a state-approved chemical technician.
